About the FounderKathryn Geraghty is the founder of Mind Stitch. She didn’t set out to become a brand namer. Twenty years ago, her career began in the meticulous world of trademark clearance. Trademark research means working deep in the details, reviewing names, and figuring out what can actually be used in the world. It’s a way of thinking that goes beyond the safety of the boardroom.
Looking at names through a legal lens changed how Kathryn saw them. She noticed patterns. She studied origins. She saw what held up and what fell apart. Kathryn learned quickly that a name isn’t just about sounding good. It has to carry meaning, avoid conflict, and hold up across markets and languages.
Kathryn previously worked in-house at leading agencies including Interbrand and Addison Whitney as a Trademark Consultant. Her work has ranged from U.S.-focused initiatives to global naming projects spanning more than 100 countries.
Kathryn received a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Writing from the University of the Sciences of Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College.
